I’m Amy and welcome to my blog!

I have been a personal trainer and spinning instructor for four years. I decided to change careers and am now studying a post grad in animal assisted therapy.

Even though I no longer work in the gym, I still want to help people achieve their health and fitness goals which is why I started this blog! I will post workouts every now and then, but the main aim is to put up healthy and delicious meals that support health and fitness goals. There is so much confusion out there as to what to eat, how much, when etc.. I learnt the hard way myself… after years of crazy obsessions of eating 100% ‘perfectly’ all the time, strange myths I made made up in my head that if I didnt eat exactly every 3 hours my metabolism would die. Crazy stuff! So I’ve learnt some valuable lessons through my 7 years of training and would like to share them 🙂

Happiness and positivity come with hard work and dedication- it doesn’t just happen , its a decision you need to make EVERYDAY!!! This blog is to help you with the keeping fit and healthy part of that decision… because lets face it: when you are fit and healthy you feel positive and happy and ready to take on the world!!

  2. thanks 🙂 i truly believe its a form of life insurance! i get so frustrated when i see people in the gym doing silly time wasting things or even dangerous exercises that will most likely put your back out instead of getting you results!

  4. Love this! I no longer work in a corporate gym (because I hated it), but now have my own business, and I’m so much happier. In the end it is about happiness, because life is way too short too be miserable. 🙂 One of my goals for 2012 is to treat myself more to sweets. I train hard, eat well, but sometimes it’s wine or chocolate that really can make me happy, and gosh darn it, I’m going to do it and enjoy it. So glad I found your blog and look forward to following you!

    • yay i am so glad you found my blog too! life is WAY too short to be miserable!!! good for you that you took the steps to fix it!! definitely treat yourself more.. i used to eat 100% and now that i have treats once in awhile i am SO much more relaxed, don’t stress about my diet and actually look better then i did when i was all stressed and strict. life is for LIVING!!!

  5. Amy, what a great blog! I feel like I was reading about myself when you described your craze with Les Mills and cardio. Now, after my body sent some pretty clear signs of depletion, I am experimenting with HIIT and thinking about joining cross fit gym… Have you tried cross fit? What do you think of it?

    • thanks!! i’ve just been going through yours and love it!! i got interested in aryuveda a few years ago when i found a deepak chopra book in my house!i LOVE crossfit.. i highly recommend it! it makes so much sense to me.. overall fitness and strength.. training the body as a whole. its great. if yu can get to a box then go for it! at the moment i can’t make it to a crossfit box so i just follow the WODs on the crossfit website. Looking forward to reading more of your blog!! xx
